Childcare Diary of New Dad

18. What's my baby's gender?

The previous story is here!

I have heard that men are slower to become aware of themselves as parents than women.

One of my male friend said,

"After my son was born and he became attached to me, I thought, 'I'm a father.'"

That's true, isn't it?

A woman bears a child in her own womb, so I think it is difficult for a man to catch up with that woman's sense of being a parent.

Well, Mother is great after all.

… and while watching the baby in pregnancy ultrasound scan in the examination room, I was in a “deep emotion mode”,

"Is there anything else you want to ask? If not, this is the end."

Since the doctor has become in examination end mode,

"Umm… have you figured out the sex of the baby yet?", my wife asked the teacher.

"Well, I can't say for sure because it's hidden by baby's legs,

but I could see it a little, so your baby might be a boy."

the doctor answered.

"Huh!? Boy!? It's Kotaro!?"

I was soooo excited that I involuntarily exchanged glances with my wife. haha

"Like now, if you have any concerns, please ask. There are some people who don't want to know, so there are times when I won't talk about it.Is there anything else you'd like to ask?"

I have no more questions. Thank you."

"OK. Then, please leave the room for your family."

Then, leaving my wife in the examination room, I returned to the waiting room.

to be continued...
