Childcare Diary of New Dad

41. Welcome to our home!!

The previous story is here!

Today is the day to finally welcome home my wife and Kotaro after the birth!😁✨

I'm already sooooo excited from the morning!!😍😍😍

It's your wife who did the most hard work, so you should get her something to give!

The instructor at my yoga studio gave me this advice.

I thought that was a good idea, so I decided to give my wife an Apple Watch and its band as a gift.

We decided to use a childcare logging app called PiyoLog to keep track of feedings, diaper changes, sleeping hours, and other baby records.

This app is very convenient because it allows you to keep a record of your baby's feedings and diaper changes through the Apple Watch without having to operate your smartphone.

From Childcare logging app, Piyolog screen

I also asked my sister, who gave birth to twins this past year, "When you leave the hospital after giving birth, what do you like to have back home?"

Then…

My husband prepared sushi for me the day I left the hospital, which made me insanely happy.

The rest is enough to convey the spirit of trying your best to raise a child together.

I got this reply from my sister😜

Riding the train, I arrived at the reception of the maternity hospital just before 10:00 a.m.

On the way home, we used Maternity My Taxi (Labor Taxi).

〇What is a Maternity Taxi (Labor Taxi)?
Cabs are available for outings during pregnancy, transportation to and from hospitals during labor and hospitalization, and infant examinations.
There is a dedicated 24-hour telephone number, and if you register in advance with the hospital where you plan to give birth, the taxi will take you to and from the hospital without directions.
In fact, when my wife gave birth, we used this maternity cab.
Even if your wife is alone and goes into labor, she can use this labor cab to get to the hospital, so I recommend registering in advance.
*We used Maternity My Taxi (Labor Taxi) | Kokusai Jidosha, km cab company in Japan. The available cab companies vary depending on where you live, so we recommend that you check with your local cab company.

The cab driver who took us home was very kind and took our picture in front of the maternity hospital when we left!🥰

In the cab, Kotaro was sleeping very deeply.😪

I went home and ate take-out sushi from SUSHIRO with my wife.
*SUSHIRO is Sushi restaurant in Japan.

Kotaro and Sushi😁✨

Thus began a new life for the three of us as a family, welcoming our new member, Kotaro.😊
