3. Read Regulations for Childcare Leave

The previous story is here!

Come on, let's read Regulations for Childcare Leave today!!

With this enthusiasm, I checked the Regulations of my company again,

〇Childcare leave

1. Regardless of gender, you can take a leave of absence to raise a child under the age of 1 for the desired period.
*One extension is possible before the child reaches the age of 1

2. On the day when the child reaches the age of 1, if the following I and II are met, you can apply for leave until the end of the month when the child reaches 1 year and 6 months.
I . One of the parents is on childcare leave
II. If you want to enter a nursery school but have special circumstances such as being unable to enter

3. If you cannot enter the nursery school when the child reach the age of 1 year and 6 months, you can extend it until the end of the month when the child reach up to the age of 2 by applying again.

4. By applying by the day 1 month before the scheduled end date of childcare leave (the request for childcare leave for children up to 1 year and 6 months (2 years old) is 2 weeks before), the period can be extended.

Pause.

Hey, it hard to understand. haha

Once I taught Japanese for high school students to pass college entrance exam, but now I know the feeling of them who didn't like it.

Students who hate Japanese test lose heart the moment they saw the text like this.

No, I never go off the track today and will read regulations all, so...

Let's check regulations one by one!

Regardless of gender, you can take a leave of absence to raise a child under the age of 1 for the desired period.

A child under the age of 1 is the child up to the day before their 1st birthday.

Fortunately, the company I work for let employees including me take a leave of absence until the last day of the month when a child reach the age of 1.

It seems to depend on companies, so please check the Childcare leave regulations of the company you work for.

I'll show you example below.

For babies born May 12, 2022

until May 11, 2023 → under the age of 1
May 12, 2023 → 1 year old
May 31, 2023 → the last day of the month when a child reach the age of 1

In short, "Regardless of gender, you can take a leave of absence to raise a child under the age of 1 for the desired period" means that,

I can take a leave of absence until the last day of the month when my child reach the age of 1 and even if I apply for childcare leave for a short period, I can extend it once.

In my case, my baby's due date is May 2022, so I can take childcare leave until May 31, 2023.

On the day when the child reaches the age of 1, if the following I and II are met, you can apply for leave until the end of the month when the child reaches 1 year and 6 months.

If May 12, 2023 is the day (birthday) when a child turns 1 year old,

on that day (May 12, 2023),

I . One of the parents is on childcare leave

→In this case, think as I (Father) is on childcare leave.

II. If you want to enter a nursery school but have special circumstances such as being unable to enter

→Well, it's OK if I think about the case my child can't enter a nursery school.

In other words, on the first birthday of a child, if one of the parents, in this case, I am on childcare leave and wishes my child to enter a nursery school, but can not,

I can apply for an extension of childcare leave until November 30, 2023 (the end of the month when my child is 1 year and 6 months old).

If you cannot enter a nursery school when the child reach the age of 1 year and 6 months, you can extend it until the end of the month when the child reach up to the age of 2 by applying again.

If a child's birthday is May 12, 2022,

the child cannot enter the nursery school as of November 12, 2023 when the child turns 1 year and 6 months,

the childcare leave can be extended until May 31, 2023, the end of the month when the child turns 2 years old.

By applying by the day 1 month before the scheduled end date of childcare leave (2 weeks before the request for childcare leave for children up to 1 year and 6 months (2 years old)), the period can be extended.

Until the child reaches 1 year old, you can extend the childcare leave period by applying up to 1 month before(1 year, 6 months or 2 years old is up to 2 weeks before) the scheduled end date of childcare leave.

Does "the period can be extended" mean that it can happen me to be declined to extend my childcare leave?

I'll check this when I'm turned down.

Even in Yu-Gi-Oh, the effect of the card is different between "can" and "do". Haha
