Mid-February 2010.
For many university seniors, this is the last month and a half of their university life, and Mid-February is the time for the final spurt of student life and fun.
But guess what?
During this last spurt of fun, I moved to Gifu by myself and started working a little earlier than my university friends. hahaha...😭
Of course, it is not that I was motivated and started working early. haha
At the cram school where I worked, classes for the new school year started on March 1.
*The new school year in Japan starts on April 1, so the cram school classes started a month earlier than that.
New employees, including me, will also be in charge of classes for the new school year starting on March 1.
In order for the new employees to be able to teach that class properly, the training for new employees, including me, started on February 16, two weeks before March 1. 😭😭😭
My subject is Japanese.
The Japanese teacher at the cram school I went to when I was in junior high school was soooo funny.
His class was only once every two weeks, but every time I really looked forward to it. hahaha
So I decided to become a Japanese teacher too. hahaha
Most new employee training is practice for classes.
The senior staff member who was in charge of my training was very good at teaching me as well as teaching the class. haha
At the beginning of the training, two pieces of advice I received from him were "clearly state the key points of the day at the beginning and end of the class" and "keep explanations to a minimum."
He showed me a lesson about conjunctive such as "so," "but," and "because."
Then he left me alone in the classroom, saying, "Well, practice your teaching now, and when you can do this conjunctive lesson in 10 minutes or less, come back and call me again." hahaha
This was a very good training approach for me😁 hahaha
After that, I kept teaching lonely in the classroom alone so that I could explain conjunctives within 10 minutes. 🤪🤪🤪hahaha
Teaching Lonely, from ~Conjunctive~<Selected excerpts>
Today's lesson is about conjunctives, those magic words that let you know what's next when you're reading a sentence without even reading it!
There are only nine types you have to learn.
Go home today with these nine conjunctives memorized!
The first is a conjunctive that connects cause/reason and result, such as so, therefore, and thus, etc…
<Omitted>
…so, that's nine different conjunctives, remember them and go home!
In this way, I faithfully followed his advice and repeated the lonely lesson in an empty classroom for about an hour and a half…
OK! I did it!!🔥🔥🔥
I asked him with confidence, "I'm ready to lesson now, please watch!"
As a result, he said to me,
It's taking 12 minutes.
🤣🤣🤣
to be continued...
