29. Application for Childcare Leave

Well, it was April in 2022.




Since my baby's due date was the following month, I decided it was time to submit a childcare leave notification to my company's human resources("HR") department.



"I'll take childcare leave until my child turns one!!!" I have made my declaration at the end of December 2021, all I have to do is contact the HR department and fill out the paperwork.



Looking at the HR department's Childcare Leave page with rhythmic sounds of clackety-clacking...


The period is until the day the eligible child reaches the age of one (1) year (the day before the child's birthday).



Oh!? What!?



Wait, wait, wait!!!



Until the other day, it said "until the end of the month in which the child reaches the age of one year"!!!

When I checked in November 2021, it was indeed until the end of the month in which he reaches the age of 1 year. haha




I immediately called the HR department .




Prrrrr....

Well, the short answer was that the regulations had changed. hahaha




So I will be taking childcare leave until the day before my child turns one year old. haha




If you are considering taking childcare leave in the future, I strongly recommend that you regularly check your company's regulations.




Regulations regarding personnel matters can change without our knowledge. hahaha




At the company where I used to work, I could take marriage leave (special leave) "within two years from either the date of the wedding or the date of registration of the marriage".



However, at some point, the period during which marriage leave (special leave) can be taken was changed to "within two years from the date of the wedding or the date of registration of the marriage, whichever comes first".




As a result, I missed my marriage leave (special leave).




When I inquired with the HR department, saying that I was not aware of such a change in regulations, I was told that all employees had already been notified by email at once. haha




Well, I don't read any e-mails sent to all employees, so I don't have a choice. hahaha




Therefore, I recommend that you regularly review any personnel-related regulations that may be relevant to you in the future.





The application for childcare leave was completed smoothly by entering the desired period of childcare leave and the expected date of delivery in an Excel input form designated by the company.
