I decided to take childcare leave.
I determined to take childcare leave on the spur of the moment, but I don't know how long can I take it and how much money it will cost to raise one child.
I immediately checked Childcare leave regulations of my company in Japan.
〇Childcare leave
1. Regardless of gender, you can take a leave of absence to raise a child under the age of 1 for the desired period.
*One extension is possible before the child reaches the age of 1
2. On the day when the child reaches the age of 1, if the following I and II are met, you can apply for leave until the end of the month when the child reaches 1 year and 6 months.
I . One of the parents is on childcare leave
II. If you want to enter a nursery school but have special circumstances such as being unable to enter
3. If you cannot enter a nursery school when the child reach the age of 1 year and 6 months, you can extend it until the end of the month when the child reach up to the age of 2 by applying again.
