When it was time for the live performance to begin, it was dark inside the dome and a figure appeared on the main stage.
With shouts of joy from the audience, Mr. Children's live performance began.
Hearing Mr. Sakurai (vocalist of Mr. Children) sing live was exactly the same as what I had heard on my *Walkman.
*Walkman is MP3 music player made by SONY
"Oh…, I'm really at Mr. Children's live performance right now…" I was in a dreamy state of mind.
From my seat, I had a good view of Mr. Sakurai as he walked down the runway.
I was so impressed by how close I was to Mr. Sakurai, and seeing him singing made me realize that he is a human being just like me. hehe
The time for the live performance flew by.
I was listening to the live performance with the expectation that they would sing "Owarinaki Tabi"…
Jang, Jang, Jang ♪
That familiar prelude to "Owarinaki Tabi" came on.
I was really impressed.
I was captivated by the sight of Mr. Sakurai singing "Owarinaki Tabi" in the center of the stage, wearing a blue jacket and playing the guitar.
I was so bad at baseball that I never played in an official game for my university baseball team, and I rarely did well, including in practice.
In the midst of almost 100% of the things that I couldn't do well, I always listened to "Owarinaki Tabi" to cheer myself up.
Mr. Sakurai is singing that song live in front of me right now.
It was as if he was congratulating me on my baseball life, saying, "You did well until the end."
I was deeply moved.
I was sooooo impressed that I don't remember the next song after "Owarinaki Tabi" at all. hahaha
The day after the live performance.
In the garden of my apartment, I was basking in the afterglow, thinking, "Well, last night was amazing!" haha
Then, that winter.
I bought a blue jacket because I admire Mr. Sakurai. hehe
to be continued...
