It's my Life

Episode28. University Life: Academics - Choose Seminar -

Perhaps it is because after the Christmas run, I have grown a size, both physically and mentally.

After the second semester of my first year, I scored a lot of 60, just barely passing, but the number of my credits required for graduation was steadily increasing. hahaha

In my undergraduate school, seminars began in the third year.

It was more than 15 years ago, so my memory is a little hazy… haha

During the lunch break in the second semester of my second year, each of the professors explained to students about the recruitment of their seminar.

Students go to information sessions with professors they are interested in and apply to seminars they like.

I thought that it would be enough if I could graduate from university about my study in university.

One day I attended a seminar presentation.

"…conversation analysis, for example, is the subject of research in my seminar."

"Oh, what!? Conversation analysis!?"

The term "conversation analysis" won me over.

Because at that time, the most important thing for me to be popular was my communication skills. hahaha

It all started with a book.

As I continued my self-study on how to be popular, one day, as usual, I stopped by the JUNKUDO bookstore in Nishinomiya-kitaguchi.

Then I found a book titled "Why Fortune Tellers Are Trusted" in a pile.

On a band of paper carrying a blurb placed over the dust cover of a book, there were keywords like a dream that would grab my heart: "The Art of Speaking and Psychology to be Liked and Trusted".

After encountering this book, I became interested in "improving my communication skills" as I began to converse with people while considering "what they are thinking and what they want."

Of course, it's to be popular. hahaha

Nothing would make me happier than to be able to treat such a popular study as a credit required for graduation. haha

So I decided to join a seminar where I could study how to be popular (conversation analysis).

to be continued...
