I retired from the baseball team in October when I was in my 4th year of college.
I always thought, "When I retire from the baseball team, I want to go see the word 'Koshien,' which I carved into a tree near my grandmother's house in Shimane Prefecture."
In November after I retired, I decided to visit my grandmother's house in Shimane for the first time in six years since my second year of high school.
By motor bicycle. hahaha
In high school days, try to see how far I can go on my bike.
In university days, try to see how far I can go on my motor bicycle.
I had such “criteria for try” inside of me. haha
I asked a motor bicycle shop in my neighborhood, "I'm going back and forth between Shimane and Nishinomiya with this (my favorite motor bicycle), so please do maintenance!"
"Leave it to me!" said a mechanic, willingly accepted the maintenance. haha
All preparations for my trip are complete.
On the first day, I got up early in the morning feeling excited.
At this time, I lived in Nishinomiya, Hyogo Prefecture, one of the most wonderful cities in the world.
From there, I went north through Hyogo prefecture and entered Tottori prefecture along Route 9.
Route 9 was in a “highway state” with almost no traffic lights, so I was able to run very comfortably.
Whenever I found a restaurant that looked delicious, I stopped by, but every time I ate there, I called my friend.
Because I was soooo lonely. hahaha
In the afternoon, I ran into a pouring rain.
I was riding the motor bicycle, so I didn't move my body, but the wind hit me hard, the rain made my body wet, so it was very cold, and the rain hit my face, it was very very painful.
Even though it was the first day, I was in full philosophical and regret mode, thinking, "Why am I riding a motor bicycle from Hyogo Prefecture to Tottori in the rain? I shouldn't have done this." hahaha
At that time, in the rain, I saw a three-wheeled bicycle running with a flag that said, “Challenge around Japan.”
It sooooo encouraged me. hahaha
Later, the rain stopped and I decided to stay overnight in Yonago City, Tottori Prefecture on the first day.
I stayed at Toyoko Inn, a reasonably priced hotel that is famous in Japan, and bought dinner at a nearby bento shop and ate it at the hotel.
Then, I thought, "After all, the meal eating with good friends is the most delicious."
