It's my Life

Episode33. Graduation confirmed!

The previous story is here!

Well, well, January for 4th-year university students is the time to catch up on their graduation theses.

The theme of my graduation thesis is "Topic Shift in Daily Conversation."

Unfortunately, as you can guess from this title, the content of my thesis had been far removed from the study of attractiveness. hahaha

Even so, I recorded the conversations with a voice recorder I borrowed from my seminar professor, transcribed them, and did my best to find out, in my own way at the time, when the topic of conversation would change.

As a result...

I found that after silence, words like "by the way", etc., the topic changes. haha

Well, you don't have to go to the trouble of writing this result in your graduation thesis, if you think about it. HAHAHA

After finishing my thesis and successfully passing my oral exams, I successfully graduated in four years! haha

Now all that's left is to enjoy the rest of my university life!

As if dreading the days when I couldn't play, I played around almost every day, I had potluck parties, stayed in Kagawa and went to Nagashima Resort located Mie Prefecture with my friends, and so on. hahaha

Then, it was a good opportunity, I decided to visit my friend in Okinawa.

This friend is my best friend from my high school baseball team.

Unlike me, he went to college right after graduating from high school, but he took a year off to travel around the world, so he was in the same grade as me, a senior in university.

Since the University Co-op offers lower lodging and travel fees, I let my momentum carry me and booked round-trip airfare and hotel.

It was a 3-day/2-night short trip to Okinawa, I decided to stay one night in the hotel and the other night in a friend's dormitory.

However, as a result of letting my momentum get the better of me, I could not make it from my apartment or my parents' house in time for the flight boarding time, so I decided to go to Kansai Airport the night before departure and stay there overnight. hahaha

I was going to stay at a *Manga Cafe in the airport, but it cost about 6,000 yen per night, so I decided to sleep in the lobby. hahaha
*A Manga Cafe is a place where you can enjoy food and drinks, read manga, watch DVDs and use the Internet. You can even stay the night there. It’s like a mini hotel.

There were many people around me who, like me, were trying to stay overnight in the lobby in order to catch a flight the next morning.

I lay down on the sofa in the lobby with my jumper as a comforter, hugged my backpack carefully and closed my eyelids…

Lobby lighting was too bright to sleep. hahaha

Still, as I was trying to sleep with all my energy, a police officer asked me,

"Um…, are you Japanese?"

For the first time in Japan, I was asked, "Are you Japanese?" hahaha

to be continued...
